[ mood | thirsty ]

Wow, how long has it been? What with both jobs, A Midsummer Night's Dream, extracurriculars, and... oh... wait... what was that other thing? OH! School! I've been too busy to update this. But here I am, with a beautiful update all for you.

January is going to be an exciting month for us. As most of you know, it's the anniversary of Roe vs. Wade. Our club is participating in the Buses for Life, where we take a roadtrip to Sacramento for prayer, lobbying, rallying, and a march around the Capitol building. We're leaving the night of Monday, January 17, and will return to campus the next day. The price is $35 but please don't let that impact your decision! We can definitely fundraise money for this trip. If you're interested in this, contact Erika or comment on this journal or e-mail me and I'll let her know. My e-mail address is heavenly_mist@hotmail.com, just in case any of you were missing that information. We need to know as soon as you know! Thanks, guys.

Also, we have the Tell-a-Parent Initiative going on. Basically, the signatures are to get the initiative to bring parental notification laws on the California ballot. We'll be at Convo both Tuesday and Thursday next week, so be sure to stop by and take a second to sign the petition.

Finally, we're done with meetings for the semester. Where'd the time go? I was really glad to see all those at the last meeting, and I'm hoping to see even more of you next semester. Our meetings are only half an hour long, so they don't take up too much time. Hopefully next semester everybody will be a little more settled in and you'll all be able to stop by the meetings.

Well, that's all I have to update everybody on. That, and did you know that Planned Parenthood is selling Christmas cards? Here's a picture of what they look like:

On the inside, it says, "Warmest wishes for a peaceful holiday season." I won't even go into the hypocrisy of the statement. When I first saw that posted in prolife by gingerrealm I nearly fell out of my chair. What kind of sadistic... Oh, wait, that's right... Planned Parenthood.

Alright, I'm getting mean now. It could be all the homework I have due Monday. :p Hope you'll all get wind of this news, and do let us know if you can participate in any of the above activities or if you have ideas for what we can do as a club. Much love, and have a wonderful holiday if I don't see you!

E-mail that was just sent out!Collapse )

In other news, nobody has told me if the Day of Silence worked out for them or what was going on. I'm willing to share my story of the day if everybody else would like to contribute. C'mon, guys!

Day of Silence! How did it go for everybody?

Some news very quickly before I go scramble to do all my homework.

Firstly... I'm really sad that nobody seems to be supporting our club. Where is everybody? David comes to meetings, and for that I am eternally grateful. Where is everybody else? You guys signed up, you live for the pro-life cause - come join us to make a stronger club!

Secondly, Thursday night is our Proposition 71 talk! The flier reads:
Prop 71 flier...Collapse )

Thirdly, Friday is the DAY OF SILENCE in standing against abortion. Wear a red ribbon around your arm and keep silent for the day in memorial of those silenced by abortion. Those who showed up to our last meeting got ribbon and fliers, but don't let that discourage you if you didn't show up - get some red ribbon and contact one of us for fliers.

Finally... I really hope that more people start supporting our cause and our club. I know you all have busy lives, but thirty minutes out of your Tuesday night really isn't too much to ask. :) Come by next Tuesday and join us.

MONEY!!! [07 Oct 2004|02:55pm]

[ mood | ecstatic ]

I just called On-Camera Audiences and it was amazing!!! I'm so excited about this! With a minimum of 10 people and $15 per person, we'll make so much! Plus we can do two in one day or come as often as we would like! Isn't that wonderful? We'll finally have money to buy things for our club! We can get videos, books, pamphlets, ANYTHING! We can send students to Washington DC for the March for Life!!! They suggested seeing the Tyra Banks show in the morning, have a club-bonding lunch break and finish with the World Cup Comedy next Saturday, Oct 16. How does that sound? Who wants to do this? I DO!!!!!
